What's Up with That?

So we spent last night in the emergency room at the pet hospital because one of our cats kept throwing up, screaming like a babshee, and foaming at the mouth. She was admitted overnight and it turns out that she had some kind of epileptic seizure which may or may not lead to further medical complications. Nadia and I are just so relieved to have our baby home after such a scarey episode.

One thing that struck me throughout the ordeal was the way that the doctors cared for her. I mean they were so loving, so sweet, so understanding. Additionally, they spent lots of time with us answering our questions no matter how insipid they were. And the whole time I was thinking about how different things would be if medical doctors had the time and resources to care for humans in the same way that the Vets cared for our cat.

What is up with that?

So sorry to hear about your cat. I had a dog with epilepsy and was medicated to manage the seizures. He lived a long and healthy life, so I know the same can be said for your cat.

Oh, I hope kitty is OK!

Let me tell you...we have asked our vet if she sees people. We found a pediatrician we like for Flipper, but before that, the plan was that he was going to be our new hairless dog... Maggie has definitely had the most consistent medical care in this family.
