Now that am counting down the days to my convalescence. I thought I would ask for reading recommendations. I love all kinds of books, so I am totally open, but I have been told that I won't be able to concentrate immediately after my surgery. Given the fact that the recovery time is 4 to 6 weeks, I am assuming that I will be able to polish off a few good books.
Any suggestions? What are some of your favorites?
Also, I have some to recommend as well. There is more to come when I have more time and when Nadia doesn't need to write a report for work.

When I can't concentrate, I go to poetry. Just get something just insanely beautiful. My rec is Adrienne Rich's collections The Dream of a Common Language or Dark Fields of the Republic. You'll want to dissect it line by line at some point, but that can come later when you're better able to focus.

I'm all about the fluff books. Bridget Jones style all the way!
I just finished (dare I say it) a smart chick lit book. It was called Little Stalker. I liked it so much that I just checked out two other books by the author, Jennifer Belle.
Total fluff- but entertaining.

I could recommend tons of books but I need just the teensiest bit more info about genre.....
I am an avid reader and am open to and grateful for any suggestions but as for genre? How about mystery and/or thriller to start?
Co has really been enjoying Janet Evanovich's series (the first one is One for the Money). They're funny. Ann Rule writes true crime novels that Co really enjoys. Also, Linda Fairstein has written a series about a woman cop. My mom looooves the #1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.
